Hi,
I'm
Lily
I'm
a
Seattle-based
designer
,
houseboat dweller
,
horror film enthusiast
,
and
Austin native
at
heart.

I specialize in designing experiences that bridge the gap between complex technology and human needs. With over a decade in design and creative strategy, I bring a perspective that spans systems thinking, storytelling, and the craft of making emerging technology feel intuitive.
Currently, I lead UX visual design for Rufus, Amazon's generative AI shopping assistant, where I've built the visual system and conversational UI patterns from the ground up. My work touches millions of customers daily through both text-based interactions and multimodal experiences. Working closely with research teams, engineers, and leadership, I've helped define what conversational commerce can look like when it's designed around genuine customer needs. I also help mentor emerging designers across the organization.
My path here wasn't linear. I've led creative strategy for large-scale campaigns like Amazon's Thank My Driver program (which engaged over a million customers in its first day), served as Art Director for 360 campaigns for tentpole Amazon Original Series including The Boys and The Expanse, and helped shape Amazon's design culture through initiatives like Nexus, their global design systems summit. This breadth has taught me to see the bigger picture while staying grounded in the details that matter to users.
What drives me is the challenge of designing for technologies that don't have established patterns yet. I thrive in the ambiguity of early-stage products, whether that's figuring out how AI should communicate with users or building design systems that can evolve alongside rapidly changing capabilities. I believe the best technology feels almost invisible, and I'm passionate about the craft required to make that happen.
